3 Key Components Of An Effective Online Sales Process

In this video, I’m going to talk to you about the 3 Key Components Of An Effective Online Sales Process.

If you have a product or are promoting a product and you’re trying hard to promote your product but something’s just not happening.

If something isn’t quite working with your sales process, it’s usually, in fact it’s pretty much all of the time is because of one of three key factors.

3 key components of an effective online sales processSo there are three key components of an effective sales process.

If you are not getting the results that you feel you should be getting from your marketing efforts, is down to one of three things you need to change.

Usually it’s one, two or maybe all of them.

There will be one of three things are going wrong, that you need to alter and change in order for the sales process to be effective.

So these three things….

The first one is traffic.

Obviously traffic is the lifeblood of our business.

So traffic is one of the three most important things that we need to get right in order to make sales online.

traffic is the lifeblood of your businessSo concerning traffic, the first thing to bare in mind with traffic, is you have to ensure that your traffic is targeted.

And what we mean by targeted is, is the traffic you are getting relevant to the product or the offer that you are promoting.

 

For example, if you are promoting a product about dogs, where are you getting your traffic from? Are you getting it from sources where people who like cats are online? (for example).

So if your product is about dogs, obviously you want to ensure that your product is showing up online in areas where people who like dogs are hanging out.

So make sure that your traffic is targeted and that the eyeballs to your offer are coming from people who actually would be interested in your offer.

So one really good source and an excellent way to get really super targeted traffic which I love is Facebook pay-per-click.

With Facebook pay per click, you can get ultra, super targeted traffic.

And you can pinpoint the exact type of people who you want to be looking at your ads.

So ensure that your traffic is targeted.

Another question to ask about your traffic…

Is it good traffic?

Is it quality traffic?

Is it coming from good reliable sources?

There are some quite suspect traffic sources available to us online, and are promoted as being very cheap, so they can be quite appealing.

There are a lot of traffic agencies for example or even solo ad providers who just promote your offer to cold traffic, irrelevant traffic or targeted traffic.

good quality website trafficSo make sure that you are using good quality, relevant, warm authentic traffic sources.

So you want your traffic to be targeted, and you want to ensure that your traffic is coming from quality sources.

The third question that you want to ask yourself, is is your traffic in sufficient quantities.

So are you getting enough traffic to your offer?

For example if you have a product and it’s converting at 10% for example, and you are showing your products to say nine people, you’re not going to get any results from that.

Obviously that’s exaggerated example, but you want to ensure that based on your conversion rate, that you are getting a sufficient amount of traffic to your offer.

So three questions you want to ask yourself regarding traffic, are

Number one…. is it targeted?

Number two…is it coming from quality sources? is it good quality traffic?

Number three….

Am I getting a sufficient quantity of traffic? If you’re happy that your traffic is targeted and if you’re happy that your traffic is good quality and genuine, warm and relevant.

If you are sure that you are getting sufficient quantities of traffic, then maybe your problem is your capture page or your landing page.

So basically, ensure that your landing page is matching what you are offering on your advertisement.

internet marketing tips for beginnersFor example, let’s say on your ad you’re offering a product about dogs, and the traffic to the ad you’re promoting, and the traffic that you’re getting is from people who like cats.

So the people who like cats see the ad, and it’s about heading click on that and then they come to your landing page which is about dogs.

So obviously they’re not going to progress with the sales process because the offer doesn’t match the traffic.

So make sure that your offer is congruent with the traffic.

And also with what your advertisement is advertising.

good internet trafficSo say for example you have targeted traffic, good quality traffic, where you know the people who are coming onto your ad are interested in dogs, but your advertisement says “Click here if you like dog collars (for example) for your dog”.

 

 

So people click on the ad for dog collars but they come onto your offer and you’re offering them dog food.

So it’s not relevant. It may be congruent with the traffic source in this case, but it’s not in line and doesn’t match your ad.

So you want to make sure that what you’re offering on your landing page is actually in line with traffic, and also what you’re advertising.

So if you’re happy that your traffic is targeted and if you’re happy that it is good quality traffic from good sources and if you’re happy that your traffic is in sufficient quantities and that your offer and your landing page is actually congruent and in line with your advertisement and the traffic source, if you’re happy with these three things, then move on.

The problem may be with your sales message.

So say you have targeted traffic, your ad is targeted, your lead capture page is targeted, so your lead opt in to receive that relevant information and join your list and then you start telling them things which are not congruent with what they initially opted in to receive information for.

So say for example, you have targeted traffic where the eyeballs looking at your ad are interested in dogs.

internet advertising tipsSo they click on your ad, then you have a relevant capture page where you’re offering them specific information about what they are interested in, and they are happy with that and they receive your free gift.

They opt into your list and then all of a sudden we start sending them messages about cats.

So obviously that’s an exaggerated example, just to illustrate the point how your sales message and what you’re selling has to be congruent with what you are offering on your capture page and also your ad and your traffic sources.

If these three things are not in line with your ultimate sales message, then that sales process is going to break down.

selling onlineSo your traffic has to be targeted, has to be good quality has been in sufficient quantities an also your capture page, has to be in line with traffic and advertising.

 

Also your sales message has to also be in line with your traffic and your compelling offer that you are you offering on your capture page.

These three things must be all be synchronous with each other and if any of these three things are off, then you need to take a look and examine each of them and identify where the where the process is breaking down.

Because if you’re not making sales that you think you should be, it’s pretty much guaranteed that the actual problem lies in one of these three areas.

If ever you are having difficulty making sales online, or wondering why your online business is not converting, it will always come down to the online sales process you are operating through…

you will usually be able to break down your business and be more adequately equipped to identify what areas of your strategy need to be changed or tweaked slightly…

or, whether you ought to completely scrap everything and begin from scratch…

Today I wanted to go through this online sales process with you, which will hopefully assist in giving you a clearer indication if or whenever your or a client’s sales are not reflective of the effort being put into the online business…

3 Key Components Of An Effective Online Sales Process…

Component 1:

Traffic

internet business strategyIf your business is not converting as well as you expect, it’s a good idea to begin looking right at the beginning of the online sales process…

which is of course the the traffic you are driving to your offer…

When looking at your traffic, three good questions to ask are…

 

1) Is this traffic targeted?

2) Does this traffic come from quality sources? (Is it good traffic) (i.e. are you getting a good QUALITY of clicks?)

3) Is the traffic in sufficient quantities?

 

Let’s say you were promoting an offer based on how to succeed in the stock market.

internet marketing expert strategyThere is a whole WORLD of difference if you are driving traffic from banner ads on websites or solo ads to mailing lists targeting housewives interested in cake decorating…

or to  people who spend all of their time filling out surveys to enter free competition give aways…

…compared to traffic from a trusted and popular site specialising in stock investing.

Moreover, if you knew your offer and sales funnel were converting well, and you were confident the traffic source and clicks you were getting were of good quality, then you ought to consider whether you are obtaining sufficient QUANTITIES of traffic.

Your Offer

1) Does my offer match the traffic I am generating to it?

In other words, is the offer RELEVANT and does it either solve a problem or cater to a desire that my target market have?

2) Does my lead capture page convert well?

Your traffic may be highly targeted and your sales message spot on, but if you are not converting enough traffic through to your sales message and sales funnel, then it’s clear to see where the problem lies within this particular online sales process.

Component 3:

Your Sales Message

Is your sales message (where newly acquired leads are directed to subsequent to optin in via your lead capture page) congruent with both…

1) The traffic source

2) What was being offered on your lead capture page.

…and if after opting in to receive the free eBook (which subsequently got sent to them via your autoresponder) they were directed to a sales video on vegan cooking recipes for losing weight,…

…this would not be congruent to the target market responding to your initial offer…

It’s essential to keep your traffic, offer, sales message and subsequent marketing efforts / sales funnels congruent to the specific target market you are attempting to serve…

If any of the 3 Key Components of your online sales process are off, then take a good look at each part and identify where the process might be braking down…

make money on the internetThe good news is that not only do you now know this ( :-) ), but once you get these 3 steps in order, the 4th step of nurturing and developing responsiveness with your mailing list becomes the easiest part.

Your job then is to simply continue to provide value to your list, create responsiveness and then market to them from there.

 

 

So let’s quickly summarize what we have been discussing regarding the efficiency of our online sales process

Ensure that your traffic matches your target market and has the answers and solutions to the problems or desires that your target market has.

Get SPECIFIC with the way you are bringing in the traffic and make sure you  know EXACTLY where your traffic is coming from.  Then, ensure you are capturing your traffic right and then selling to them right.

Simply put, if ever you are noticing difficulty with your online sales process…

  • Make sure your audience is targeted
  • Make sure your offer is specific to them

Then, look at what is specifically breaking down in your online sales process and then focus on the part that is not working and then fix that part.
